The usage of ABC Cables in low voltage Networks provides important saving in installation costa while it ensures the same reliability and safety replaces bare-conductors in overhead distribution lines and increased very rapidly since 1960 all round the world.

 

PHASE CONDUTORS

 

Phase Conductors are manufactured round,solid aluminium wires.

16 mm2 round solid aluminium , 25…..95 mm2 from 7 wires ,120 mm2 and up 19 wires round stranted and compacted aluminium

Tensile and Strenght 120 N/mm2 , Resistivity at 20 C max.0,028264 ohm mm2/m

 

NEUTRAL – MESSENGER

 

Neutral – Messenger ,manufactured with 7 wires from aluminium alloy.

Tensile and Strenght 294 N/mm2 , Resistivity at 20 C 0,03284 ohm mm2/m

 

INSULATION

 

ABC (AER) Cables , phase conductors extruded black weather-resistant special low density PE or XLPE.The insulated phase conductors are signed by continous salient lines.In all types of cables 1 salient line shows neutral within 5 insulated cores.The salient lines 2-3-4 shows phase.

 

MARKING

 

Manufacturer name,size,rated voltage,TSE guaranty mark,Standard no. and manufacturing year of the cable embossed on the insulation of two ridgephase conductor

USAGE PLACES

 

ABC (AER) Cables in an excellent solution for rural and industrial areas.Stage lighting at main roads and streets.House,Apartment Village,Small Town and industrial areas.

Being insulated , ABC (AER) Cable is not dangerous to person who touch it unawares.In this aspect it differs essentially from bare-conductor lines.This is an important advantage for both fitters and others who live or work nearby.

Also kWH meters are beter secured against atmospheric overvoltages when using ABC (AER) Cables

The Neutral of ABC (AER) Cable is uninsulated.The neutral is easily and unmistakably identifiable when low-voltage lines are being installed or repaired.

 

COSTS

 

The erection costs of a fully installed ABC (AER) line are lower than those of a correspnding bare-conductor line.The ABC (AER) saves money on labour costs,accesories,tools and total investment.So it is the solution when max.line kilometrage form in.investment and labour input sought.

ABC (AER) Cable lines are also cheaper than a bare-conductor lines for operating and maintenance costs.

Several ABC (AER) Cables can be installed on the same pole.Due to this distrubition capacity can be increased later.

Telephone Cables or medium voltage overhead power cables can be installed on the same pole with ABC (AER) Cables.

 

Lower inductive reactance of the ABC (AER) Cables reduces voltage drop and power losses

Due to the fewer interruption on the ABC (AER) lines lower consumtion losses and customer complaints.

The insulated phase conductors of ABC (AER) cables prevent illegal usage of electricity.

Extruded black weather-resistant special low-density polyethylene. Black weather-resistant

 

 

special high-density polyethylene by request.

Design

:

The cable consists of one, two or three phase conductors and one optional street lighting conductor

 

 

twisted around the neutral bare messenger which is next size larger than phase conductor and bears

 

 

the entire weight and stress of the cable.

Core identification

:

Phase conductors: two, three and four longitudinal ridges.Street lighting conductor without ridge.
